Life is so busy and at times so chaotic that we can all find ourselves dragged down by day to day activities and wonder why we feel we are spiralling into a constant negative frame of mind. At least that's how I've experienced life throughout my mid twenties.
My story venturing into understanding how important mental health is and how extra important it is for us as individuals to practise self care began when I just turned 25 and I lost my mother, my dog, my father in law and a friend all within the space of 2 months. It's safe to say I've experienced a lot of sad and negative emotions that took me to some real dark and lonely places, even though I had a close, loving and supportive family. I've experienced depression, been on medication, talked to counsellors and thankfully cam out on the other side.
From this experience I found a love for exercise within the gym environment and that helped keep me focused and driven to better myself as an individual. From this I decided to wanted to help individuals similar to me who had a lot of unresolved issues to comprehend with and help them by training them as a personal trainer.
Unfortunately in 2021 I endured another bereavement, this time it was my father. This spiralled me right back into the same depression I had become familiar with in 2017. I didn't have a clue what I was going to do now, 29 years old and lost my mother and father.
With the help of medication and counselling, I was once again back on my feet and back in the gym getting my mental health where it needed to be. In 2022, I finally got certified as a level 3 personal trainer and began my venture training individuals to better themselves both physically and mentally.
As well as qualifying as a personal trainer, I qualified as a level 3 life coach in order to help people feel better about themselves and get back on track if they seem aimless or have no motivation or passion.
At 30 years of age, I feel I can say, I've been there done it and worn the t-shirt and can have full empathy with individuals the need a little help to find their spark for life once again, find motivation or want to be pushed a little further to better themselves.
